From Ho Chi Minh, you can choose one among these 3 route as follow:

Route 1Through National Highway no.51

From the center of Ho Chi Minh City, you follow Nguyen Duy Street, going through Pham Hung and Vo Van Kiet Street. Next you continue following Mai Chi Tho Street, then Ho Chi Minh Highway- Long Thanh – Dau Giay and National Highway no.51. From this point, you just continue in 100km and reach Vung Tau City. This route is pretty long and kind of roundabout. However, it has been chosen by many travelers as its road condition is good and broad. What’s more, there are a lot of traffic signs along the way so that you hardly get lost when following this route. However, you need to comply with Vietnam traffic law, riding on the right road lane with allowed speed as there are a lot of traffic police booth along the way.

Route 2Cat Lai Ferry Station – Nhon Trach

This route is 20 km shorter than the first one but you have to catch a ferry, which is slightly more difficult than the first one. You pass Thu Thiem Tunnel, heading to Mai Chi Tho street. Once reaching the three-way intersection, turn left to Dong Van Cong Street, go straight ahead to Truong Thi Dinh Street and Cat Lai Ferry Station is right in front of you. After traveling by ferry, you continue in Ly Thai To Street in about 5km and then turn to Tran Van Tra Street. Coming to three-way intersection, you turn right to Quach Thi Trang Street, then turn left to Ton Duc Thang after riding 4km. Continue traveling in the next 14km to reach National Highway no.51. From there, you just need to head about 60km to set foot on Vung Tau City.

Route 3: Long Son

This is the most popular route for those traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau by motorbike thanks to road in good condition, low volume of vehicle and spectacular landscape. You just need to follow Cat Lai Ferry Station then to National Highway no.51. On this way, you will catch sight of a sign turning to Long Son. Following the sign and passing Cha Va Bridge and Go Gang Bridge, you will reach Vung Tau City.
